I decided to stop at the halfway/turn around point of my run along the trail.  A kid's baseball game was going on and I couldn't resist to stop and watch a couple half-innings.  It took me back to the days when I was young and watched my brother swing the bat.  Seeing him be so involved inspired me to be active; I always wanted to keep up with my big brother.  I also saw a little blonde girl in her bathing suit with ballerina slippers on swinging the bat on the sidelines just like the boys - spitting image of my childhood.  It was absolutely great to stop and truly take in the surroundings.  I hope other runners are able to take in their environment as much as I; to stop, take a deep breath, and appreciate life.

Wonderful thoughts! When we are little we cannot possibly see the runner go by and contemplate our future selves, but the opposite can happen! Thanks for sharing. Good run!

Hi, Gretchen! Welcome to the blog. I love that you took the time to enjoy your run. I usually make my run take me around Scudder Pond, a local area where kids under 14 get to fish! I like to see them so intent on catching a big one.

My brother just finished dental school in Ohio. I wonder if you went to the same school???

Good luck with everything! Way to ENJOY your run.

Words of wisdom: "to stop, take a deep breath, and appreciate life." I love it! Great job on getting in the runs this week! :)
